Why I Replaced My Car Dash Cam with the Botslab HK30 Pro
A small 2K front dash cam, powered by the cigarette lighter — and what I paid for it
Botslab HK30 Pro Front Dash Cam
💰 Bought It Myself 🚗 Car Dash CamThe HK30 Pro is a front-only dash cam with a 2K main camera and a 140° wide view, according to the listing. What I like first is the size. It is a lot smaller than my previous camera, so it sits behind the mirror without getting in the way.
I power it through the cigarette lighter, so there is no hardwiring to do. So far, the app and the camera are working well. I have not used it long enough to say whether it fixes my looping problem, so I will not claim that yet.
| Resolution | 2K (per listing title and main image) |
| Field of view | 140° (per listing title) |
| Channels | Front camera only (single channel) |
| Storage | microSD card, up to 256GB |
| Recording | Loop recording |
| Phone app | Wi-Fi connection to a phone app |
| Warranty | 1 year (per listing image) |
| My power setup | Cigarette lighter |
- Small form factor, much less bulky than my old camera
- 2K resolution is a step up for me
- The app and camera are working well
- Low price at ₱1,575
- Front camera only, no rear view
- Too early for me to give a long-term verdict
- Some listing details are inconsistent (see tip below)
Final Thoughts
I switched because I wanted a smaller camera, a sharper picture, and hopefully fewer headaches with auto looping. After the first stretch of use, the Botslab HK30 Pro looks like a good fit for the price, and the app and camera have worked well for me.
I will update this post once I have driven with it longer. If you only need a front camera and want something compact, it is worth a look. Just confirm the specs with the seller first.
